BASF Intermediates Division has introduced new product variants with a reduced product carbon footprint (rPCF) for butanediol (BDO), tetrahydrofuran (THF), polytetrahydrofuran (PolyTHF®), and N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP). BASF states that the reduced product carbon footprint is achieved through low emission feedstocks and utilities produced at its Verbund site in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Industrial Paint Remover

Cortec® has introduced EcoLine® Surface Reveal, an industrial paint remover formulated with 77% USDA‑certified biobased content and biodegradable ingredients. The updated product contains no methylene chloride or NMP (N‑methylpyrrolidone) and can be applied by dipping, brushing, or rolling. Cortec says it is designed to work quickly, removing acrylic and alkyd coatings within roughly 15–30 minutes, depending on conditions. Low-Temperature Cure Powder Coating

WEG has launched a new powder coating with low-temperature curing technology, developed for use in industrial applications with heat-sensitive materials such as plastics, composites, and other special substrates. WEG says the technology allows curing at temperatures lower than those conventionally used, 110-140 °C and 160-200 °C, respectively. The company says that the reduction of the curing temperature contributes directly to the energy efficiency of the production processes, potentially reducing energy consumption in industrial coating lines.

Silicone-Based Surface Additives

BYK announced additions to its line of radiation-curable systems. BYK-UV 3590 and BYK-UV 3595 are crosslinking, silicone-containing surface additives for radiation-curing printing inks and overprint varnishes. BYK says that the additives are 100% active substances with strictly di-functional structures, formulated to improve tape release, increase surface slip, and create structural effects. Excelitas® has added two new technologies to its portfolio of UV curing systems. The coating is designed to resist ignition, expansion, and smoke generation at temperatures up to 1200°C. Automated Mixing Technology

MIPA has introduced two automated mixing machines intended to simplify and accelerate the paint mixing process.ÌýThe fully automatic Mipa Abtönautomat CR 6 uses volumetric dosing technology to support precise mixing at volumes as low as 0.0077 ml. Operating independently of a scale, the company says it is designed to save time during dosing. The Mipa SunraceÌýoffers a semi-automatic alternative for precise color mixing using the Mipa WBC mixing system. Hempel has launched Hempaline Defend 430, a solvent-free tank lining created for use in the energy sector. According to Hempel, the epoxy phenolic lining is designed to enable rapid return to service with single-coat application, lower energy use during installation, and support more sustainable operations by reducing VOC emissions and workplace hazards. Sustainable Nylon 6

BASF has expanded its sustainable nylon 6 offerings in North America with two new grades: Ultramid® LowPCF and Ultramid BMB. BASF notes that both materials incorporate renewable natural gas derived from organic waste through a mass balance approach. According to BASF, this results in a reduced cradle-to-gate carbon footprint compared to conventional grades, with Ultramid LowPCF achieving a 30% decrease, and Ultramid BMB delivering an approximately 50% reduction. Ultra-Low Reflectance Black Pigment

Ishihara Sangyo Kaisa, Ltd. has launched LUSHADE® BLACK, an ultra-low reflectance structural black pigment. The surface structure of the bismuth sulfide pigment resembles sea urchin spines, enabling the pigment to absorb more than 99.0% of visible light and resulting in an ultra-black pigment with extremely low reflectance. When used in coatings, it also helps suppress surface temperature rise. Energy-Curable Coatings for Metal

PPG has unveiled its DURANEXTâ„¢ UV/EB portfolio of energy-curable coatings for coiled metal. The family of products includes electron-beam and ultraviolet curable backers, primers, basecoats, and clearcoats. According to PPG, DuraNEXT products feature lower energy usage, water consumption, and CO2 emissions, compared to traditional thermal cure coatings, and does not require the use of very high temperatures to drive the curing process. Elementis recently rolled out DAPRO® BIO 9910, a defoamer with 96% biobased carbon content, and C14 verified, specifically designed for water-based coatings. Silicone Hull Coating for Newbuilds

Hempel has launched Hempaguard NB, a silicone hull coating intended specifically for new-build vessels. Hempel states that Hempaguard NB is designed to withstand exposure to the atmospheric conditions of construction, unlike conventional silicone products that require controlled environments. Polyphthalamide for High-voltage Connectors

BASF has added Ultramid®ÌýAdvanced N3U42G6 to its polyphthalamide (PPA) portfolio. This polyamide 9T, with a non-halogenated flame retardant, is designed to minimize electrocorrosion of metal contacts in electric and electronics (E&E) parts for e-mobility. According to BASF, the PPA increases the safety and durability of high-voltage connectors in applications such as inverters, DC-DC converters, and batteries of electric cars. Huntsman launched a new intumescent polyurethane coating system for automotive applications. POLYRESYST®ÌýEV5005 is designed to provide passive fire protection to metal and composite substrates used in electric vehicles (EVs). WACKER has introduced ELASTOSIL®ÌýN 9189, an electrically conductive silicone rubber for use in power plant generators. Gemini Industries, Inc. has launched Glitsa®ÌýIdroClearâ„¢, a clear, single-component, waterborne floor finish for residential applications. The VOC-compliant single-component formulation is intended to simplify the application process by eliminating the need for a crosslinker to achieve a scratch- and scuff-resistant finish. Powder Coatings with Recycled Plastic

PPG launched EnviroLuxeâ„¢ Plus powder coatings, which contain up to 18% post-industrial recycled plastic (rPET) and are made without per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). PPG says that, due to the elimination of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) fluoropolymer and the use of rPET, these powder coatings achieve up to a 30% reduction in carbon footprint. Acrylic Resin for Architectural Applications

EPS introducedÌýEPS® 2731, an all-acrylic film-forming acrylic resin for architectural DIY and/or professional paint formulations.
