Syensqo intends to introduce EO-based solutions made with Shell Chemicals’ lower-carbon feedstocks, which deliver up to 51% lower carbon footprint versus conventional EO1, through carbon capture utilization (CCU) credits via a mass-balance approach.

Verified under the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification  Carbon Footprint Certification, these drop-in solutions allow customers to reduce the carbon footprint of their formulations without requalification, while maintaining performance, quality, and supply reliability.

According to the companies, this expanded partnership highlights the complementary capabilities of Azelis and Chemetall. Through Azelis’s customer portals, customers can access Chemetall’s surface treatment technologies and solutions. These portals provide 24/7 access to download technical and safety information, place orders, and request samples.

The ORP® and ORGAL® product lines comprise redispersible polymer powders, as well as styrene-acrylic and acrylic emulsions for construction applications. They are used to modify drymix mortars and other cement-based building materials and for the formulation of construction adhesives and sealants. Additionally, they are used for liquid roofing membranes and waterproofing systems.

According to the companies, the alliance brings together complementary regional strengths: while CHEMEON expands access to selected SurTec surface treatment solutions in the U.S. market, SurTec will offer CHEMEON products internationally, supporting customers with local technical expertise and established infrastructure.

The products are designed for numerous end uses, including lighting fixtures, appliances, garage and entry doors, and building products. The company says this expansion aligns production capabilities with anticipated growth in the metal roofing and broader construction markets.

According to Sherwin-Williams, it upgraded the 32-year-old facility, adding a 60% increase from 2025, with state-of-the-art technology, advanced automation, larger batch capabilities and expanded production capacity to meet accelerating demand in roofing, metal building and OEM manufacturer markets.

According to Arkema, the project is supported by its robust global R&D ecosystem, which ensures innovation leadership in PVDF advanced applications and technologies. This ecosystem includes the Changshu R&D center in China, as well as R&D centers in France, Japan, South Korea and in the United States. Together, it says these laboratories enable Arkema to collaborate closely with customers and accelerate development of high-performance solutions for the energy transition and advanced manufacturing industries.

Upon completion of the transaction, Sandy Burgess will continue as CEO and president of Burgess Pigment. Eric Tillirson will continue to serve as president of Thiele. As part of the completion of the transaction, Thiele and Burgess Pigment will both become wholly-owned subsidiaries of a new holding company owned by Burgess Pigment’s existing shareholders.

The transaction is expected to close in 2026, subject to the receipt of shareholder and regulatory approvals, as well as other customary closing conditions.

According to Shamrock Technologies, the company will benefit from improved data visibility, which supports more informed decision‑making across the organization. This includes a better understanding of production costs and improved formula and route management, along with new tools that will enable more robust forecasting and scheduling as the transformation continues.
